Arael was once a part of the highly prestigious Demon Knights, however, after certain circumstances leading to his demotion to outcast, he left the Demon Realm to become a hunter among the humans and teach them how to fight demons and angels alike. He made it clear that it wasn't out for vengeance against his former Demon Knight superiors. Rather, his time with humans had opened his eyes to the fact that angels and demons weren't the only casualties of the Angel-Demon War. Quite the contrary actually. He realized that in battles between the two races, roughly 5 humans died for every angel or demon casualty, due to how often their armies would clash near human cities. So, disgusted with his own race and his hate for the angels strengthened, he joined with the humans, hoping to give them a fighting chance in the war.
